Region: Cuilco, Huehuetenango
The Boqueroncito farm is under the care of the Villatoro family, with Aurelio Villatoro overseeing the wet mill, and Antonio, his nephew, specifically looking after these two farms. Boqueroncito starts at 1,400 meters above sea level and tops out at just under 1,550 meters. While that's not especially high altitude for Guatemala, coffee is only planted up to about 1750 meters due to the colder climate there. This slows down the rate of cherry maturation and aids flavor development and seed density.
